"We want the public to enjoy the holidays but, as several members of the public found out tonight, we will not tolerate Drinking and Driving. If you are planning to go out and have a drink, please make sure to have a Designated Driver or other mode of transportation arranged to get you home safely. When you choose to get behind the wheel drunk, you are putting yourself, members of the public, and members of LC's Emergency services at risk." Stated Cst. Haphazard of the Traffic Services Unit

Liberty City RCMP would like to remind the public that there is a Zero Tolerance policy when it comes to Drinking and Driving. The consequences of driving under the influence can be drastic, including fines, vehicle impoundment, loss of driver’s licence, and even jail time.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police is urging anyone that sees a suspected impaired driver to call 9-1-1. It is also worth noting that as the
holidays continue, drivers can expect to see more and more RCMP on the road looking for impaired drivers at checkpoints across the city.

Just remember, the holidays are much more enjoyable when everyone gets home safely!
