BUS CRASH KILLS FOUR LEAVES SIX CRITICAL

  At approximately16:00 on November 27th 2013 a number of RCMP officers, LCAS ambulances and LCFR engines were dispatched to a a number of emergency 911 reports of an overturned bus on the Algonquin-Dukes Expressway. A MedEvac helicopter was placed on standby and all East bound lanes were shut down during the incident in which of 18 passengers and the driver 7 remain critical and 4 were killed.

 An EMT waits a safe distance from the crash.

  The crash is currently under investigation by the Liberty City RCMP's Criminal Collision Investigation Team. "The Criminal Collision Investigations Team is providing a thorough investigation into the incident. We will share details of the investigation when more information is presented to us." Said Cpl.Ohlheiser of the LC RCMP TSU.

Anyone that witnessed the crash and/or witnessed anything leading up to the crash is encouraged to call the Broker/Dukes RCMP Detachment as soon as they can. Any information is important.


"My personnel responded quickly to the scene and sprung into action to tend to the crash and victims. Although lives were lost, we managed to save more than we lost. My heart goes out to the families, friends and colleagues of the victims." LCFR Chief Rubin said later that day.
