Multiple officers were tied up for almost two hours with two separate incidents within half a mile of each other Algonquin - Dukes Express Way. First most of the watch responded to assist who was taking small-arms fire from a motorcycle. Two suspects were pursued. One was taken into custody the other dismounted and abandoned his motorbike in the middle of the westbound lanes. Inspector Glen bravely gave foot pursuit with out back up. No shots were fired at the Inspector but the suspect was lost as an unmarked unit rolled up to help. Having abandoned his SUV to give chase he joined Constable Cosh in his cruiser. Heading east they witnessed a man on a motorcycle speed off a cliff overhead and land on the east bound lanes a few dozen yards ahead. The Inspector ordered Cst. Cosh to attempt a traffic stop. The suspect, identified as a Richard Betty, was drunk and seemed to have no idea what was going on. He admitted to having "at least three beers" at Paddy's Pub. TSU Cst. Hazard was summoned to the location for a breath test which showed a reading of 1.0. The suspect was transported to the FIA detachment with a cadet ride along who showed up during the breath tests.
