LC RCMP Announces 2nd Annual Yonth Acadmey

 LC RCMP Inspector Glen yesterday announced the city's second annual youth academy. It will occur on Saturday March 27th. Due date for the application is the 17th. Applicants must be between 13 and 15 years of age. Watch the YouTube video for more info.

K-9 ASSISTS IN MANHUNT

 A manhunt in Broker came to a good end thanks to the assistance of an RCMP trained dog. Police responding to a disturbance launched a search after a man with a small caliber handgun fled. Police secured the area and a team of four officers and Spucky the police dog searched. No persons were harmed although the search lasted a while while the dog was looking. The suspect was eventually found hiding in an alley way between two residential buildings. The suspect was arrested and detained for assault

Here come the boys in pink...

 The Liberty City RCMP's Boys in Blue became the Boys in Pink in support of Pink Shirt Day by donning pink uniforms. All uniformed officers donned pink shirts in support against Anti-Bullying Day. Officers conducted normal duties while wearing the unifrom for the second time.

 Anti-Bullying Day (a.k.a. Pink Shirt Day) is a day celebrated on various dates across the world, originating in Canada and most commonly known in North America. It takes place on the last Wednesday of February or the second Thursday in September. It originally started as a protest against a bullying incident at Central Kings Rural High School in Nova Scotia when a grade nine student, Charles McNeill, arrived to school wearing a pink shirt. On this day and was bullied for it. Many of those who participate wear pink to symbolize a stand against bullying.

RCMP PUT DOWN RIOT

RCMP members forcefully put down a small group of rioters in East Algonquin following a protest.

TASERs, rubber bullets and batons were used. Rioters threw Molotov Cocktails, stood on top of police cars and broke past the police lines at the UN Building. Around a dozen persons were taken into custody and transported in police trucks. About twenty officers including the Liberty City RCMP commander Insp. Glen attended. A Lenco BearCat was deployed although no one was injured. Police are yet to release a full statement. No injuries have been confirmed.

Man found unconscious in Middle Park

 LCRCMP's MRO Screamer announced via Twitter that a male apparently in his mid-twenties was found unconscious in Middle Park late last night. He was brought by ambulance to Schottler Medical Center where he is believed to still be. Although the investigation has been finished no further details have been released at this time.

Water Rescue

Highly skilled rescue teams pulled a dying victim from a sunken car shortly before  tornado warning. Multiple Ambulance and rescue units responded to the car which had driven through a guard rail. After LCFR SUCBA divers recovered the victim via boat. After the patient was rushed to hospital a Bohan tornado warning was issued by the MSC.

Horrific and Shocking Van Crash in Dukes

 A clothing store van driver suddenly found himself dangling 40+ feet above the coast after his van's front wheels went over the edge. A RCMP officer saw the van driving recklessly however when he attempted pull him over the shocking happened.

 Two patrol units, a fire truck, a rescue unit, fire command vehicle, ambulance and a paramedic SUV took part in the rescue operation which lasted a surprisingly short time. Four fire fighters managed to secure the van and extract the driver before it plunged down the cliff face and exploded.

 He was uninjured but his van was left a crumpled, bent and twisted mess.

NEW AUXILIARY CONSTABLES TO PATROL THE CITY

 Four new Auxiliary Constables will soon be out on patrol in Liberty City helping normal patrol officers. They will be deployed to crime heavy areas across the city. Auxiliary Constables have received extensive training in Use of Force, Emergency Driving and the Criminal Code of Canada from the Depot Training Division.

 "The Auxiliary Constable’s will be distinguishable by their uniforms, the will not have the recognizable yellow stripping on the pants or the forage cap and they will also have a patch that identifies them as an Auxiliary Constable. These new Auxiliary will be operating fully marked police vehicles with the wording Auxiliary on them." said Cst. Hamie with the Media Relations unit.

"I am extremely proud of the work and the commitment that these Auxiliary Constables will be doing for our great city. Liberty City Council is committed, as always to better assist the citizens and increase public safety where we can." Stated Mayor Ochoa

Major fire at LC Waste Treatment Plant

 Despite near-freezing conditions and heavy snow brave members of the Liberty City Fire-Rescue and Liberty City Ambulance Service responded to reports of a fire at the Liberty City Waste Treatment Center on Charge Island. Units Engine 51, Rescue 71 and Battalion 11 were dispatched to 4798 Industrial Road with a report of a working industrial fire and instructed to use Tact 9. Upon arrival LCAS Medic 41 and a Supervisor were summoned to the scene where a staging post (callsign Charge Island Command) had been set up. The crews of Rescue 71 and Engine 51 split up to search for the fire as no specific location had been given. A tank and several hoses were discovered blazing on the Delta side. Further details came in of a fully engulfed storage tank just off the island. All crews were prepped in Level B (Medium) haz-mat protection. Dispatch came back with details that the container contained standard mixed sewage. While the on scene crews prepared to set up a foam attack dispatch reported that operators had mistakenly mixed fuel with the sewage. Within minutes Tact Team One had a line of Class B foam on the fire and another team were clearing the area of civilian staff.

 The primary team stumbled across an unconsious male and brought him out along with another (walking wounded) male. Both were moved to the LCAS triage post in a parking lot across the road. The walking wounded was taken away by the LCAS Supervisor.

The fire was eventually safely extinguished. In all 1 engine, 1 rescue, 1 SUV, 1 supervisor, 5 firefighters, 1 ambulance, 1 paramedic SUV and 3 paramedics responded. The wounded victim is expected to make a full recovery.

MedeVac in downtown LC

Life Flight helicopter 77 was scrambled mid-afternoon on January the 5th to transport a male trauma victim to Schottler Medical Center. The victim was successfully transported to the hospital. The helicopter returned to Francis International Airport and was put back on standby.
